Category: Culture & Heritage
Version 1.0 – February 05, 2026
Main source: Audierne 2026 participatory program section
Key Observations
- Exceptional richness of religious heritage: several classified chapels (Sainte-Brigitte dated 1654, Sainte-Edwett with only classified furniture - 1723) and historic churches (Saint-Raymond, Saint-Onneau, Saint-Joseph)
- Safeguarding and modernization of the Cap-Sizun Maritime Museum
- Unique prehistoric and maritime heritage: menhirs, dolmens at Sainte-Evette, historic port at the heart of Audierne identity
- Dynamic cultural associative life: Audierne Esquibien Culture association regularly organizes exhibitions, conferences and animations (Science Festival, Le Goyen cinema)
- Appreciated but improvable cultural events: Music Festival, “Goyen en lumières” illuminations, summer festivals attract residents and visitors
- Need to enhance and transmit this heritage to younger generations and newcomers
